Brinkhaus "Mandarin" silk duvet is the choice of the connoisseur. It conjures up the very essence of the orient, lavish opulence, comfort and pure luxury, all in amazing silk. Silk is an excellent alternative to synthetic fillings and offers a natural fibre alternative to down filled duvets. At Brinkhaus, we use only luxury Tussah wild silk which means that the Silk is gathered after the silk worm has pupated and the moth has gone from the cocoon. Pure Silk is an ideal natural filling for medium and Summer weight duvets because it is relatively light, lofty and cool, yet it is inherently body resposive and holds heat as needed.
We have expanded the "Mandarin" range with two new options, firstly to offer additional warmth and secondly to offer an easy wash, cooler option. In this last one we add pure cotton to the silk mixture to create a superb and even more practical option.
The well established Brinkhaus "Mandarin" medium light Tussah wild silk duvet for Summer (4.5tog) is already a classic. Some clients find it suitable for all year round because of the unique ability of silk to adapt to the body's temperature changes.
The new "Mandarin" medium warm has more Tussah wild silk in the duvet for increased warmth and a middle range insulation rating (7.5 tog).
To complete the new collection, we created the new "Fresh Mandarin". Using a Tussah wild silk and natural cotton fleece combination (50%/50%) we designed it to ensure it is exceptionally light-weight for a fleece product. We made the "Fresh Mandarin" washable, and the cotton aids extra moisture evaporation. This is an ideal choice for those really warm clammy Summer nights (3.0 tog).
All three options are fitted with strong nickel free metal press studs that join together so all three can be used separately or combined to themselves or to each other offering nine different options of comfort, which puts you in control. The "Mandarin" is an international classic among duvets, this expanded selection creates a unique range of which give that more tailored look to the made up bed.
