Divan Beds

Whether you are searching for that traditional look or want to maximise the space available in the room where a bedstead isn’t an option, or perhaps want a striking fabric to compliment the bedrooms focal point we have a wide selection of divans on offer. Manufacturers like Vispring, Hypnos and Somnus excel at making bed bases to order and they are available in various forms alongside their mattresses. Occasionally we do sell divans on their own by request – give our helpful sales staff a call if you would like any help with choosing, or if you are after advice on beds in general.

I would say the key things to note are that divans come in various fabrics and there are a few main styles to consider. There will also be the choice of padded top or sprung top divans. Padded tops are firmer and usually less expensive, sprung tops are softer and come in either pocket or open coil sprung varieties. Furthermore, with sprung bases there are also options to have either a firm edge or a sprung edge where the springs are boxed in or are pocketed to the edge of the base.

Main Styles:

Deep Divans – The most popular – with the option to add drawers if needed, and can accommodate a taller spring unit in the base.

Low divans – Offered from a few manufacturers, they are half way between a deep and shallow and available with various leg/castor options.

Shallow Divans – Usually supplied on legs and they do not come with drawers – great if you like to reach under the base to vacuum, or if you have some things you want to store under them.
