Quirky Harlequin Chair

When hand making bespoke sofas and chairs, there are inevitably ends of fabrics left when the furniture is completed. Many of the fabrics used cost in excess of £100 per metre, historically these ends would be destined for the remnants bin.

These chairs, which are of a classic design, started life by the time served highly skilled upholsterers and seamstresses, who would sift through the fabrics available, picking out colours and designs to put together to make a truly unique chair. Unique in that we can only make one of each chair.

Each chair is Hand upholstered with a solid beech frame which is glued, screwed and dowelled, fitted with a coil 14 spring seat unit with a mesh top.

A truly unique chair made from, not recycled but upcycled materials that no longer have a function.

The sometimes unexpected mix of colours and designs incorporated together in one piece of furniture makes for a very unusual " statement " piece that would happily sit in the corner of a lounge, bedroom or hall.

D. Atkinson:

"I've just taken delivery of my beautiful chair. I can't stop looking at it and if I had the space I'd order more! I just wanted to let you know that I'm totally thrilled. Thanks"
