V&A Peony Trail
The inspiration for Peony Trail originates from a textile design conceived in 1910 by Lindsay Phillip Butterfield (1869-1948), one of the most successful freelance designers of patterns who worked in the Arts & Crafts style. Butterfield's depiction of bold peony blossoms and pretty prunus has been influenced by Japonsim, a popular style for Edwardian furnishing. The reverse of the duvet cover and oxford pillowcase feature a peony block print to add an extra drama.
