About Tempur

Tempur is a premium mattress and sleep product company known for pioneering the use of memory foam in consumer bedding. The material at the heart of its products was originally developed by NASA to absorb pressure and improve seat cushioning for astronauts. Tempur took that technology and adapted it into mattresses and pillows designed to provide personalised support by conforming to the shape of the body.

The brand was founded in the early 1990s and quickly gained popularity for its ability to reduce pressure points and motion transfer, which appealed to people seeking relief from back pain and those who shared a bed with restless sleepers. In 2012, Tempur-Pedic merged with Sealy Corporation to create Tempur Sealy International, one of the largest bedding companies in the world. Despite the merger, the Tempur brand continues to operate under its own identity, known for its high-end offerings.

Tempur’s product line includes mattresses, pillows, adjustable bed bases, and other sleep accessories. The brand has maintained a reputation for quality and innovation, though it’s often seen as a luxury product due to its higher price point. Customers frequently praise the comfort and durability of Tempur mattresses, and today Tempur products are sold in over 100 countries through company-owned stores, online platforms, and third-party retailers, making it a global leader in the sleep industry.
